Renowned
Zambian Jeweler Rashmi Sharma last night held a successful gemstone show at
which she showcased some of Zambia’s rich stones which include tourmalines,
aquamarine and amethyst.
In a
statement to ZANIS in Lusaka today, Charge d’ affairs at the Zambian embassy in
Washington DC Ben Kangwa commended Ms Sharma for marketing Zambian gemstones in
America.
Mr Kangwa
further applauded Ms Sharma for taking part in the exhibition as it markets
Zambia’s tourism potential.
He said
there has been an increased recognition of Zambia by the United States (US)
both as an investment potential and a tourist destination choice.
Mr Kangwa
noted that the just ended US trade mission to Zambia led by Commerce
International Trade Secretary, Francisco Sanchez which included 11 US companies
is a clear testimony that Zambia is gaining recognition in investment.
And Ms
Sharma said Zambia has high value gemstones that are slowly being acknowledged
as high grade gemstone.
