Police in Chinsali district of
Muchinga Province have arrested a 29 - year- old man for allegedly defiling a
12- year -old girl of the same village.
Muchinga Province Deputy
Commissioner of Police Chilije Nyirenda has confirmed the arrest of the man in
an interview with the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Chinsali
today.
Mr Nyirenda has identified the
man as Elias Mutale of Sokone village in Chief Chibesakunda’s area adding that
the incident occurred on Friday last week around midnight in the same village.
The Deputy Police Chief said the
suspect is detained at Nambuluma police station and will appear in court soon.
