SAMSUNG, MULTICHOICE PARTNER IN DECODER DEAL



As the country’s digital migration draws close companies are busy wooing consumers to make purchases that will enable them get easier access to decoders.
Samsung consumers will get a free decoder for every purchase of a television set enabling them enjoy the benefits of digital TV immediately.
Samsung has partnered with pay-television operator MultiChoice to bring the package closer to the consumers by offering a decoder with the purchase of a specified type of Samsung TV.
The bundled offer, valued at approximately Sh68 million, will see consumers get a free fully installed and activated decoder from MultiChoice Kenya with a one month free subscription with every purchase of a Samsung LED or Plasma TV in what is being dubbed as the ‘deal of the season’.
Samsung General Manager, Consumer Electronics, Allan Oyier lauded the partnership terming it a ‘win-win’ situation between the two companies.
“All a consumer needs to do is to buy a Samsung TV from as low as Sh23,995 and get a free DStv or GOtv decoder with one month subscription,” said Mr Oyier. 
The promotion will run for two months subject to availability of stocks.
The MultiChoice Kenya General Manager Danny Mucira stated that by going digital with this deal, consumers will be able to watch lots of exciting entertainment from either DStv or GOtv.
