MAN 32 KILLED BY SPEEDING VEHICLE


A thirty two year old man of Mutendere Township in Lusaka died yesterday after being hit by a speeding Vehicle.
The Victim identified as Kapinga Mwango of Mutendere C section met his fate after being hit by a speeding Vehicle Registration number AAV 8271 Toyota Corolla.
The driver of the vehicle Azron Zemba a Warrant officer based at Arakan Barracks in Lusaka was speeding along Mutendere Maploti road when the incidence happened.
Some eye witnesses told ZANIS in an interview in Mutendere that the incidence happened around 20:00 on Saturday night.
Philemon Phiri, a Mutendere resident further told ZANIS that the victim did not die on the spot but died yesterday at Levy Mwanawasa General Hospital after sustaining multiple body injuries.
And Agnes Shindino also a Mutendere complained bitterly that many lives have been lost on the same road and called on the relevant authorities to put up humps in order to prevent over speeding.
And a ZANIS crew that rushed to Benny Mwinga police post found the relatives of the deceased and the accused person discussing the matter at the police traffic section.
Some officers at Benny Mwinga police post who were interviewed by ZANIS confirmed the road traffic accident but referred all queries to police spokes person Elizabeth Kangela who by press time could not be reached by the reporter.
The body of the deceased is lying at Levy Mwanawasa Hospital Mortuary.
