Ambassador to Zambia Mark Storella and his Swedish counterpart Lena Nordstrom
have congratulated the Zambia National Soccer Team for reaching the finals at
the on-going Equatorial Guinea-Gabon African Cup of Nations.

Storella says Zambia has shown such leadership this year as a model in
democracy and that now the Chipolopolo boys are leading Africa in sport.
He said
the determination and discipline exhibited by the team deserves commendation
from all soccer loving Zambians.

Storella has since wished the Chipolopolo boys the best of lucky as they take
on the Elephants of Ivory Coast in the final of Africa’s biggest sport event on
Sunday the 12 of February.
And
Ambassador Nordstrom praised the Chipolopolo boys for reaching the finals of
the African Cup tournament in 18 years.

Nordstrom said Zambia showed resilience and real zeal to go all the way to win
the coveted African Cup trophy.
The
Chipolopolo boys yesterday beat one of the favourite teams that was tipped to
win this year’s tournament Ghana one nil in a tense game to qualify to the
finals of the tournament for the first time in 18 years.
The
Chipolopolo boys last reached the finals of the African Cup in 1994 where they
lost two goals to one against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Zambia
will face the Elephants of Ivory Coast in an anticipated mouth watering final
on February 12.
