to resuscitate all important traditional practices that have gone into
extinction.

Chiefs and Traditional Affairs
Minister, Nkandu Luo said Zambia’s vanished traditional practices leave much to
be desired hence the need to re-awaken them.
Professor Luo said government
will work hand in hand with all traditional rulers in the country on the traditional
skills revitalisation process.
Speaking in Lusaka last night at
the National Cultural night, Prof. Luo further urged Zambians to take keen
interest in embracing their respective traditional cultures.
The National Cultural Night was
mesmerised by the ever green Amayenge cultural ensemble and performances from
various cultural groups.
Prof. Luo further called on
Zambians to invest back in their villages in order to strengthen the cultural
heritage preservation exercise among the young generation.
She said the Patriotic Front (PF)
government will put culture top on its agenda because of the importance
role it plays in uniting people.
Earlier, Tourism and Arts Deputy
minister Keith Mukata hailed Zambian artists for their continued efforts in preserving
the culture of Zambia through song, and paintings among others.
Mr. Mukata further called for a private public
partnership approach in organisingcultural programs before, during before and after independence cerebrations.
