NATIONAL BUDGET AFFECTS ALL ZAMBIANS



A parliamentarian has observed that parliamentary debates in the National Assembly have an impact on ordinary Zambians.
UPND Namwala Member of Parliament (MP) Moono Lubezhi said in parliament that it is important that honourable members of parliament come prepared on Tuesday next week to deliberate on the budget presented before the house today.
Ms Lubezhi was contributing to the debate on motion of supply in parliament today following the adjournment by the Speaker of the of National Assembly to October 16, 2012 in view of the 2013 national budget presentation by Finance Minister Alexander Chikwanda. 
“Issues presented in the budget speech by the Minister of Finance have an impact on the Zambian people. So it is important that MPs are given time to prepare adequately in readiness for the debate in parliament,” Ms Lubehzi said.
The Finance Minister has presented a K32.2 trillion national budget for 2013 in today’s budget speech to national assembly.
