CHIEF NALUBAMBA CALLS ON ZAMBIANS TO REMAIN PEACEFUL


Senior Chief Bright Nalubamba of the Ila people of Namwala District in Southern Province has called upon Zambians to be peaceful during and after the Presidential and Parliamentary elections slated for next week on Tuesday.
In a telephone interview with ZANIS today, Chief Nalubamba said that politics is like a game hence there are winners and losers saying that losers should therefore respect the winner and vice versa.
He said that it is not the first time Zambia is having elections and described the previous polls as peaceful and emphasises that this election was not any special.
Chief Nalubamba cited the 1991 elections in which the MMD defeated UNIP and that there was no violence .
He urged Zambians to emulate former President Kenneth Kaunda who has been a promoter of peace and accepted defeat in 1991.
Chief Nalubamba said that it is his prayer that Tuesday’s elections are conducted in a peaceful and friendly manner .
The Chief said that Zambians cant  risk to plunge the country into chaos saying this is retrogressive.
