MONZE MMD CALLS FOR ACTION AGAINST MAHERE

Monze, Zambia - THE Movement for Multi Party Democracy (MMD) in Monze District has expressed anger over the current attacks on the party leadership by some of its members in Southern Province.
And youths in Mazabuka District have called for disciplinary action to be immediately taken against Mazabuka District MMD Vice Chairman Takawira Mahere for attacking the party leadership in the province including President Rupiah Banda.
District Chairman Fair Namakobo and District Secretary Passmore Nkolola condemned the attacks on the ruling party by Mr. Mahere in a statement made available to ZANIS in Monze today.
The two have since warned Mr. Mahere against misleading the public and described as unwarranted, attacks on President Rupiah Banda and the provincial leadership in the province.
Mr. Namakobo and Nkolola said that Mr. Mahere had no respect for the people of Southern Province and Monze in particular and challenged him to explain to the public why he was dropped as District Commissioner for Monze District after serving for few days only.
They said Mr. Mahere was a misguided person who was after destabilizing the MMD in Monze and Southern Province as a whole.
The party has also called on Zambians to ignore the outbursts from Mr. Mahere because he was a disgruntled element who did not mean well to the party.
And MMD youths in Mazabuka have called on the Provincial leadership to quickly intervene and ensure that action was taken against Mr. Mahere.
The youths said in a statement to ZANIS that the attacks by Mr. Mahere were highly derogative as they were putting the name of the party and President Rupiah Banda into ridicule.
They said that Mr. Mahere was a political renegade who had been conniving with the opposition to destabilize the party and denounce the President.
