CHILUBA MEETS CAPT SOLO, FORGIVES HIM

Former second republican president Frederick Chiluba has met Captain Steven Lungu, popularly known as Capt Solo, the mastermind of the 1997failed coup against his government.
Speaking during the meeting at his residence in Lusaka’s Kabulonga residential area, Chiluba said the 1997 coup failed not because of Capt. Solo and his colleagues’ failure to execute it but that God crushed it.
He said God could not allow his Christian nation to be thrown into turmoil. Chiluba said he had forgiven Capt. Solo from the bottom of his heart.
Capt Solo apologised for his actions and tendered his request for forgiveness. 
Capt Solo said his was sorry for having had led the failed coup and pledged to lead a Christian life.
