BEN KANGWA NAMED TO EXCLUSIVE MEMBERSHIP ORGANIZATION - CAMBRIDGE WHO'S WHO

Ben Kangwa, Press Secretary for the Embassy of the Republic of Zambia, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in his career.
Mr. Ben Kangwa is a media strategist with expertise in business and financial reporting. He is also a political analyst. He is a respected Zambian radio and television journalist with solid interviewing skills on Zambian political issues.
Mr. Kangwa has had a full electronic and print media career having worked both in radio and television at the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation for a period spanning twenty-five years and rising to the position of Director of Programes, a position he held for nine and half years.
Mr. Kangwa is the only journalist in Zambia to produce and present a business program entitled "Business Review" for twelve consecutive years. He is also credited for having produced and presented "one-on-one" 90-minute interviews with each of the eleven presidential candidates in the 2001 tripartite elections and secondly a "live" debate style 90-minute program featuring 10 of the eleven presidential candidates in the same election at the same time. The candidates were as follows: Mr. Levy Mwanawasa SC - Movement for Multi Party Democracy (MMD), Mr. Anderson Mazoka - United Party for National Development (UPND), Gen. Christon Tembo - Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD), Mr. Tilyenji Kaunda - United National Independence Party (UNIP), Brig. Gen. Godfrey Miyanda - Heritage Party (HP), Mr. Benjamin Mwila - Zambia Republican Party (ZRP), Mr. Michael Sata - Patriotic Front (PF), Dr. Nevers Mumba - National Citizens Coalition (NCC), Ms. Gwendoline Konie - Social Democratic Party (SDP), Dr. Inonge Mbikusita-Lewanika - Agenda for Zambia (AZ), and Mr. Yobert Shamapande - National Leadership for Development (NLD).
In the 2006 elections, Mr. Kangwa again interviewed the following presidential candidates on both radio and television: Mr. Levy Patrick Mwanawasa - Movement for Multi party Democracy (MMD), Mr. Michael Sata - Patriotic Front (PF), Mr.Hakainde Hichilema - United Democratic Alliance (UDA), Brig. Gen. Godfrey Miyanda - Heritage Party (HP), and Mr. Winwright N'gondo - All People's Congress (APC).
Mr. Kangwa has also produced and presented "live" programs on the National Constitution sponsored by the Constitution Review Commission where he sat on the publicity committee. He also produced and presented a "live" program for a period of four years on Media Reforms sponsored by the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA).
On the religious scene, Mr. Kangwa is also credited for his "witty and strong" questions when he interviewed excommunicated Catholic Archbishop Emmanuel Milingo, who stunned the Vatican and married a Korean woman chosen for him by the controversial South Korean born evangelist Sun Myung Moon.
Mr. Kangwa currently works as Press Secretary at the Embassy of the Republic of Zambia in Washington D.C., USA. As Press Secretary, he reviews daily American and Zambian news, determines pertinent factors and writes press releases for news outlets both in the United States and in Zambia on behalf of the Zambian Ambassador to the United States of America.
Mr. Ben Kangwa earned his Master's Degree in Journalism in 1994 at Cardiff University, Wales. In 1996, the Press Association of Zambia (PAZA) recognized his professional interviewing skills in financial journalism and presented him with the "Best Financial Journalist Award."
Mr. Kangwa has served on several professional Boards such as the Evelyn Hone College Journalism Board, the Zambia Business Coalition on HIV, the Yatsani Catholic Radio Station Board, the Salvation Army Board, the Keep Lusaka Clean Campaign and the Lusaka Jaycees. He attributes his success to the support he receives from his mentors and family members, especially his wife.
