RB MAKES CHANGES TO HIS GOVERNMENT

The President of the Republic of Zambia Rupiah Banda, today made changes to his Government at Deputy Ministerial and Permanent Secretary level. This is contained in a statement issued in Lusaka today by Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations Dickson Jere.
The President has transferred Southern Province Minister Hon. Daniel Munkombwe, MP to the Office of the Vice President as a Deputy Minister. Hon. Munkombwe will takesover from Hon. Guston Sichilima, MP, who has been transferred to the Ministry of Home Affairs in the same capacity
President Banda has also transferred Local Government and Housing Deputy Minister Hon. Elijah Muchima, MP, to Southern Province as new Provincial Minister.
Meanwhile, the President has appointed Dr. Samson Phiri as new Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Services. Mr. Ngosa Chisupa, who was Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, will be redeployed. The President has also appointed Mr. Anthony Undi as Permanent Secretary (Financial Management and Administration) in the Ministry of Finance.
Further, the President has appointed Ambassador Keli Walubita as new Chairman of the Police and Prisons Service Commission. Ambassador Walubita was until his appointment Zambia’s High Commissioner to India. In addition, President Banda has appointed Mr. Percy Kangwa Chato as new Commissioner of Prisons.
All the appointments and transfers are with immediate effect.
