PLAN INTERNATIONAL DONATES MALARIA DRUGS TO CLINICS IN ZAMBIA

Plan International has donated 40,000 doses of coartem as part of its efforts to combat malaria in four districts in Zambia.
The four districts that will benefit from the donation are Chibombo in the Central province, Mazabuka in Southern province, Chadiza in Eastern and Mansa in Luapula province.
Plan International Zambia Country Director Tim Budge disclosed this at the weekend during the handover of a newly constructed in Lubende area of chief Mibenge in Mansa.
Mr. Budge said each district will get five cartons of 2,400 adult doses of coartem, which is the first line malaria treatment drug.
He said the 40,000 doses of adult treatment coartem were sourced from Norvatis Pharmaceuticals in Switzerland.

The donation is part of Plan International’s contribution to the health programme in line with the theme ‘United Against Malaria Campaign.
