PRESIDENT BANDA LEAVES FOR SOUTH AFRICA AND MOZAMBIQUE

LUSAKA, September 21, 2010 - His Excellency, Mr. Rupiah Banda, President of the Republic of Zambia is expected to leave on Wednesday for South Africa and Mozambique for consultations on a number of issues.
The President will leave for Maputo via South Africa where he will stopover before proceeding to Mozambique. President Banda will be accompanied by First Lady Madam Thandiwe Banda, Minister of Energy Hon. Kenneth Konga, MP and other Government Officials.
President Banda is current chairperson of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation. He took over the position from His Excellency, Mr. Armando Emilio Guebuza, President of the Republic of Mozambique.
President Banda will return to Lusaka immediately after completing his scheduled business in Mozambique.
