Speaking at the same function, Chawama Member of Parliament, Reverend Sampa Bredt said tress play an important role in ecological stability and contributes to socio economic development of the country.
Reverend Sampa Bredt commended Government for being proactive in reversing disruptive effects of climate change on the ecosystem.
Earlier, Zambia National Service (ZNS) Makeni Garrison Commander Victoria Machiko said the service has partnered with stakeholders in planting trees in its camps and surrounding areas.
Col Machiko said ZNS has joined the Government in its efforts aimed at fighting environmental degradation through tree planting and as a contribution to the ‘’Keep Zambia Clean and Healthy campaign’’.
